2008 Empower- Living the Dream
Many children dream of being super heroes. They imagine themselves leaping tall buildings in a single bound, running faster than a speeding bullet, being more powerful than a locomotive. Many will recall as a child, leaping off the garden shed dressed in a cape, wanting to do amazing and incredible things that only a super hero could.
Like kids dreaming of being super heroes, we as Christians also want to do something significant with our lives. We have dreams and desires for things we would love to achieve for God. Things that are out-of-the ordinary …extraordinary achievements, supernatural exploits. We are full of potential, surrounded by opportunities, but we often feel inadequate.
Romans 8:31b says, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” This statement is so empowering.
2007 was the year of enlargement. We saw God stretch us in so many ways. He enlarged our vision, our faith, and our capacity. He began to give us a glimpse of what could be. 2008 is the year to empower. Here at The Way we want to turn vision into action.
Our goal is to empower people at every level and in every area to fulfil God’s plan for our church and beyond. This will mean allowing God to empower us; to release us into our destiny and to fill us afresh with his supernatural power.
As a leadership, it will require us to equip and release many more people into God’s plan for our church. Empowerment is the next level up from delegation. It is the sharing of power through the designation of responsibility, authority and accountability.
2008 is the year to see every person equipped and released to do their bit in fulfilling the vision God has given to us, to get our church structure right and to prepare for our future. To see God’s supernatural power propel us towards achieving big things for God as we “equip people to transform Hobart and the Nations with the Love and Power of Jesus Christ.”
